When Vision Loss Affects Your Life, We Help You Take Back Control
This Isn’t About Stronger Glasses, It’s About Real-Life Solutions
Low vision care isn’t something we “also do”. It’s a service we’re known for. We help patients who’ve lost usable vision from macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, stroke, or trauma find practical ways to stay independent, safe, and connected to what matters.
And while most people think of low vision as a senior-only issue, we see plenty of younger adults with TBI, post-surgical vision changes, or inherited conditions that can’t be corrected with regular glasses. Whatever brought you here, we’ll meet you with practical options and an open conversation.
What to Expect from a Low Vision Evaluation
This appointment is different. We start by asking what’s hardest right now, reading recipes, recognizing faces, seeing road signs, staying steady in new places. Then we take the time to test your remaining vision and try out tools and strategies that can make a real difference.
You’ll test different magnifiers, lenses, filters, and lighting setups right here in the office. We may also explore digital aids, high-contrast options, or wearable systems depending on your needs and goals. The tools aren’t the solution. They’re part of a bigger plan we’ll build together.
Tools That Can Help—But Only If They Fit Your Life
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all kits or generic handouts. Instead, we help you explore:
-
Optical magnifiers (handheld, stand-based, or spectacle-mounted)
-
Digital video magnifiers
-
Custom lighting for reading, cooking, or hobbies
-
Filters and contrast-enhancing lenses
-
Task-specific lenses (TV, reading, driving*)
-
Mobility and home-use aids
-
Referrals for mobility or occupational therapy if needed
*Driving recommendations are always made case-by-case and within Georgia state law.
For Patients Traveling: why We’re Worth the Drive
We regularly see patients from Jefferson, Maysville, Nicholson, and other towns where low vision care just isn’t available. We take that responsibility seriously. From your first call to your follow-up training, we treat every low vision patient like family, because many of them are neighbors, or referred to us by the doctors who’ve known them for years.
Schedule a Low Vision Visit That Puts Life Back in Focus
You don’t need to drive to Atlanta to find help. We’re right here in Commerce, and we’re here to listen, test, and guide, at your pace. Call us to set up a low vision evaluation and let’s see what’s still possible.
